CHRS had a fantastic weekend at Maker Faire Bay Area at Mare Island! Over three busy days, our volunteers introduced tens of thousands of curious makers, families, and young people to the history and hands-on fun of radio and electronic communication.
Visitors got a chance to take the mic, explore radio technology, and try their hand at Morse code, while our spark gap demonstration offered a memorable look at the earliest days of wireless communication. We especially loved seeing so many kids stop by, ask questions, experiment, and discover that radio history is something they can experience, not just observe.
A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered, helped with setup and teardown, transported equipment, staffed the booth, and represented CHRS throughout the weekend. Events like Maker Faire give us an incredible opportunity to bring Radio Central out into the community and inspire the next generation of makers, broadcasters, and radio enthusiasts.
