GOOD BYE JERRY – At 10:30 AM, our pal from SCARS, Barry Dagestino will join us for a short farewell to Jerry Cantou. Barry will bring some of Jerry’s ashes to scatter around one of Jerry’s favorite places, KRE. Jerry will join our dear departed friend, Chester Coleman who also loved KRE and who had his ashes spread around our radio station home. Please take a break from the meet and join us as we say good bye to our friend Jerry.

CHRS has many items to sell. We have many radio ‘kits’ from the Jim Coleman collection. These radios are in various states of restoration and will be offered at attractive prices. We also have many ‘flea market’ items to pass along, some free chassis and… The FREE ham radio magazine give away continues.

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS – To help set up and work the CHRS tables and the FREE magazine give away. We can use as many as 4 people to help. Please email to volunteer.

SWAP MEET RULES HAVE CHANGED – Your CHRS Board of Directors at our June 2, 2012 Board / General meeting, voted in sweeping changes for our Vintage Radio Events. In consideration for a rules review by one of our Members and on recommendations by our On Site Events Manager, the Board voted in the following rules:

1. The gate at KRE will be open no later than 8 AM.

2. At KRE sellers may drive in any time after the gate opens, set up tables and set up your radios for sale. But, be prepared to cover your sale items with a blanket or tarp until 9 AM. If any pre 9 AM arrangements between buyers and sellers are observed, the seller will be asked to leave.

3. So that the sellers are not disturbed when they are setting up, the selling area will be roped off until 9 AM. We will move the ropes as sellers arrive. At KRE buyers can mingle outside the selling area or in our building. At Foothill, sellers will set up in a designated area and buyers will mingle in a designated area, until 9 AM.

4. There is NO sellers fee at our events. But, donations are always welcomed. Recurring sellers must have current membership. Membership not required for one time only sellers.

CHRS has come a long way to make our events more civilized. We hope these new rules make selling at our events much easier.
