We Won! The Concours D’élegance
Organized by the French Radio Club CHCR
CHCR: Club Histoire et Collection Radio, invited participants to enter a 1920’s Radio and Horn speaker in a Concours D’élegance. Contestants were encouraged to dust their entries and make them look their best.
CHRS had a great team effort with participation from Steve Kushman, who donated the 1927 Metrodyne radio to CHRS, Philip Monego who loaned us the Burns speaker, a couple of tubes and the refinishing services of Carlos Perez, Walt Hayden who painstakingly photographed the entry, Kent Leech, who helped us find a set of gold 201As for the right look and Gilles Vrignaud, who remanufactured the front tuning knobs and generally encouraged everyone to get things done.
A great team effort! Thank you all, Gilles
PS… Philip Monego has gifted the Burns speaker to CHRS so our winner, this stunning display of 1920s technology, will remain together.
