Long time suppliers of electronic components, Al Lasher’s Electronics on University Avenue in Berkeley, CA closed its doors December 31st, after being in business since 1960. Many of the people reading this notice have shopped in the friendly confines of this niech establishment. Whether you needed a resistor, tube, transformer, switch, transistor or almost any electronic component, Lasher’s had it. Still operated by the Lasher family, Bob Lasher, son of founder Al, said it was time to close due to the virus and other factors.

But not before our Johnny-On-The-Spot CHRS reporter, Dave Billeci visited with his camera. Dave did a fine job of archiving this unique venue that meant so much to so many fix-it-yourselfers, experimenters, restorers and other electronic geeks. Bob Lasher talks about the history of this place and about his father Al. Thanks again to Dave Billeci for shooting and editing this new CHRS video.
