Donate radios, other equipment, or ephemera and artifacts to CHRS
Thank you again for considering CHRS for your donation. Your support helps us continue our mission of preserving radio history for future generations.
We are stewards committed to expanding and sharing information about our collection with the public through education. We wish to inspire interest and excitement for current and future generations in radio history through knowledge.
The California Historical Radio Society manages the collections and selects objects, artifacts, documents, books and related material, and media for display in its exhibitions. Objects are selected according to the following criteria:
- Objects cannot be dropped off or brought to CHRS without following the guidelines outlined below.
- The object(s) must relate to CHRS’ collection scope of late 19th century – 1990s.
- The owner must be able to demonstrate clear ownership through a receipt, letter of transfer or other document, or substantiated explanation.
- CHRS does not accept objects nor any materials that are spoils of war.
- The Collections Committee must review and approve the object(s) for its/their relevance to the collection.
Please submit the form below with item details, including photos and dimensions. Once we receive your submission, our collections committee will carefully review the information and assess whether the item(s) are a good fit for our collection. We meet monthly to discuss acquisitions and will respond to you promptly with our decision and next steps after the monthly meeting.
We want all the gear to find a good home, so if we can’t take the items ourselves we will try to help you re-home your items, but nothing can be left at our building unattended, unannounced, or unapproved.
