SUMMARY:Radio Broadcasting History Talk
DESCRIPTION:A Brief History of Radio Broadcasting \nWhere did radio broadcasting come from? What technologies and ideas led to broadcasting? Which inventors did what to move broadcasting by radio from a lab experiment to a home entertainment venue? We’ll look at the slow evolution from the wired telegraph and telephone to experimental voice transmissions for two-way communication. Learn about the influence of books and magazines and the contributions of young hobbyists\, leading to programming for new audiences\, and the regulation by government in what by the end of the 1920s was a fully-formed creation called radio broadcasting. For our volunteers who are building Radio Central\, and the new and long time members of CHRS\, here is a chance to gain a small perspective on why we exist. Presenter is long time CHRS member and author Mike Adams. \n  \n\n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp
