Remember\, no selling activity before 9 AM. \nSWAP MEET RULES HAVE CHANGED – Your CHRS Board of Directors at our June 2 Board / General meeting\, voted in sweeping changes for our Vintage Radio Events. In consideration for a rules review by one of our Members and on recommendations by our On Site Events Manager\, the Board voted in the following rules: \n1. The gate at KRE will be open no later than 8 AM. \n2. At KRE and Foothill\, sellers may drive in any time after the gate opens\, set up tables and set up your radios for sale. But\, be prepared to cover your sale items with a blanket or tarp until 9 AM. If any pre 9 AM arrangements between buyers and sellers are observed\, the seller will be asked to leave. \n3. So that the sellers are not disturbed when they are setting up\, the selling area will be roped off until 9 AM. We will move the ropes as sellers arrive. At KRE buyers can mingle outside the selling area or in our building. At Foothill\, sellers will set up in a designated area and buyers will mingle in a designated area\, until 9 AM. \n4. There is NO sellers fee at our events. But\, donations are always welcomed. Recurring sellers must have current membership. Membership not required for one time only sellers. \nCHRS has come a long way to make our events more civilized. SUMMARY:Volunteer Day + Troubleshooting the All American 5 Class at KRE DESCRIPTION:Volunteers at 9 AM \nClass Starts 10 AM \nCHRS CLASS – Troubleshooting the All American Five – Saturday\, June 16th 10 AM. In this class\, we will take a detailed look at the circuit of the All-American Five\, the most popular radio of all time. After a brief review of the components found in the AA5\, we will dissect the schematic\, one function at a time\, and investigate how each section contributes to the overall operation of the radio. We will find out what happens when a particular component fails\, and how it affects the operation of the radio. This is the technique of troubleshooting an ailing radio. There will be in-class problem-solving breaks for the students to diagnose what kind of malfunctions of radio performance are caused by specific component failures. It is recommended that students taking the course are familiar with the basics of reading schematics and are familiar with the characteristics of electronic components: capacitors\, resistors\, transformers and vacuum tubes. Prerequisites: Taken and passed the CHRS self-administered safety training course. The ability to read and understand schematic diagrams. Instructor: John Staples\, W6BM. Also CHRS will be selling Coleman ‘Project Radios’. These are radios from the Coleman collection in one stage or another of restoration. Most of these radios have been electrically restored and the cabinets have been repaired\, primed and ready to paint. Most parts are included: grille cloth\, dials\, lenses and knobs. Some are missing knobs\, which you may be able to find in our big knob box. These radios are priced quite attractively.
