DESCRIPTION:Join us at Radio Central\, 2152 Central Ave.\, Alameda\, CA 94501 on June 13\, 2025 from 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM to hear from Sam Van Zandt. \nFor over 50 years\, Sam Van Zandt lived his dream of playing music and telling stories on radio.\nFrom his San Jose beginnings in high school radio on KSJO and his first professional DJ job at KPER in Gilroy at 17\, to his retirement after 14 years doing mornings with Lissa Kreisler at KBAY in San Jose\, Sam has loved to entertain listeners with stories and corny jokes in between hit songs. \nSam’s career included time in a small Texas town\, and more than 30 years in San Francisco. Sam was heard in morning or PM drive on KCBS-FM\, KBGG (Big 98)\, KYA\, KNEW\, KSAN\, KIOI and KFRC from 1972 through the early 2000’s. As Public Affairs Director\, Sam interviewed hundreds of authors\, musicians\, actors and other celebrities through the years.
