SUMMARY:An Evening with Terry McGovern
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to continue our Living History series with Terry McGovern. Terry McGovern is a dynamic and accomplished performer whose career spans radio\, television\, film\, stage\, and voice acting. Known for his versatility\, Terry began his film career with George Lucas\, providing voices for THX1138 and delivering the iconic line “These are not the droids we’re looking for” in Star Wars. He also appeared in American Graffiti and played memorable roles in Mrs. Doubtfire and Nine Months. On television\, he was a guest star on popular shows like Cagney and Lacey\, Happy Days\, and Newhart\, and a regular on CBS’s Charlie and Company. As a voice actor\, Terry brought to life the beloved character Launchpad McQuack in Disney’s DuckTales and Darkwing Duck\, among many other projects.  Terry will discuss the devolution of radio\, how to appear to be consistently in a good mood for fun and for profit\, and surviving Don Sherwood. \nJoin us at Radio Central\, 2152 Central Ave.\, Alameda\, CA 94501 on January 24\, 2025 from 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM to hear from Terry McGovern. Doors open at 6:00 for light hors d’oeuvres and mingling\, then Terry begins at 6:30.  There will be time for questions at the end.
