2 NEW SOUND SYSTEMS
FOR RADIO CENTRAL
In order build out our museum exhibits in Radio Central’s Great Room we must say good by to our rare set of Ampex theater speakers due to their large size. We are actually getting two new systems for the room. The first set is a stereo pair of Meyer Sound Bluehorn control room monitor speakers. This system will be used for critical stereo music listening. The second system is composed of two Meyer Sound ULTRA-X-42 speakers to be suspended above our guest speaker’s lectern. This system will be used as the room PA System for speaking engagements. We are very fortunate to be able to acquire these two extremely professional sound systems. Meyer Sound speakers are fully powered units and are used in professional control rooms, studios and larger venues. CHRS will have sound systems second to none. This also makes our facility very desirable for sound connoisseurs. OK, back to our Ampex theater speakers. This fantastic system has original all Jim Lansing drivers built to Jim’s specs by Ampex. And have Jim’s name and signature on them. It’s very important to CHRS that these speakers find an excellent home and are well taken care of. These are extremely rare and we don’t think that there is another pair of these… anywhere we could find. Thanks to our Sound Engineering committee of Dan Healy, Chip Lim, John Stuart, Steve Kushman, Scott Robinson and Walt Hayden for their work on the new systems. Stay tuned for some fantastic sound.

Those are some killer monitors and I look forward to hearing them. What’s to become of the Ampex units?
Don,
The Ampex theater speakers will be re-homed with someone who will respect their historical significance and care for them properly. We are researching them now for more information. Stay tuned for sales details.
