The CHRS Holiday Party last Saturday, December 13, at the Veterans Hall across the street from CHRS Radio Central, was enjoyable in every way. We packed the place with 100 guests! The catered lunch was really nice and the pie bar topped it off nicely. Instead of having our usual pot luck, we wanted to have an event where our usual volunteers didn’t have to do anything but have lunch and a good time.

The music by “Elvis” Fong-Torres with musicians Kurt Huget and Rachel Garvin really had the crowd smiling, singing along and toe tapping. Stan Bunger filled us in with the latest from our Bay Area Radio Museum and Radio Hall Of Fame. He reported that great progress is being made in cataloging our radio station media in preparation for digitally archiving.

Keith Scott read “An Ode To Zoey” that he composed about our almost 17 year old CHRS Husky mascot we lost recently. It was very nice.
And for big laughs we were treated with the CHRS Radio Dog players performing The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet – “The New Radio Phonograph” live on stage. Directed by Peter Finch and produced by Steve Kushman, our cast included Terry McGovern, Alisa Clancy, Michael Bennett, Elaine Leong, Sam Van Zandt, Miranda Wilson, Joe Starkey and Rachel Lee. With sound effects and music by Ricky Rubin and Live mix by Dan Healy.
This was a swell party packed with happy guests. Dave Billeci recorded, edited and posted the event.
